ISIS works with Bulgarian NGOs, academic organisations, universities and military educational institutions in the field of national and international security and foreign policy. ISIS continued the working relationships with the Delegation of the European Commission in Sofia, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. This year marked an increased interaction with the media in the security and foreign policy fields.
ISIS has lended again generously a helping hand to young researchers Ph. D holders, writers of dissertations, M. A.s, students in their last courses. The purpose is to stimulate their creative interest in security and international studies and bridge them with the potential of Internet, especially with the ISN and the EINIRAS.
During 1997 ISIS representatives were invited to more than 30 conferences, seminars or workshops as speakers, chairmen, respondents or participants. Half of these events were international both abroad and in Bulgaria. Associates of ISIS participated in a similar number of academic events in their personal qualities.
ISIS is particularly grateful to the following organisations and persons, who contributed to the Institute's activity or information inflow in 1997:
In 1997 the following associates of ISIS contributed mostly to its activity: Dr. Todor Tagarev, Dr. Venelin Tzachevsky, Mr. Ivan Tzvetkov, Mr. Valeri Ratchev, Dr. Plamen Pantev.
